Port Warren Park is Greenwich Township's signature historic-recreation destination and one of the strongest Morris Canal sites in Warren County.

County parkland preserving part of the Morris Canal corridor, canal-industrial archaeology and access to Inclined Plane 9 West.
The current Warren County trail map shows a marked nature loop through the park.
The park map also shows a 0.5-mile connection continuing toward Strykers Road.
Canal boats were raised roughly 100 feet at Plane 9 West. The site preserves major archaeological evidence of the canal's water-powered inclined-plane system.
All three are identified on Warren County's current Port Warren Park trail map.
The museum interprets Morris Canal history but is currently listed by Warren County as temporarily closed.
Why Port Warren mattered: A small settlement grew at the bottom of Plane 9 West as canal boats waited to cross the incline. Historic county material identifies a store, tavern, blacksmith shop, mule barn, lime kiln, bridge, houses and farms associated with the canal community.
Historic Stewartsville & Greenwich Township
Greenwich is one of Warren County's oldest communities. The area combines Revolutionary-era associations, historic churches and cemeteries, early mills, Stewartsville's road-and-canal crossroads and later rail transportation.
The nationally registered historic complex includes nineteenth-century stone structures, outbuildings and remains associated with an 1838 bridge. Treat it as a historic property rather than assuming walk-in public access.
